My Calling

Can I just tell you that the best thing about being in the middle of nowhere is the sky. Wow the stars out here are amazing. I just had a great time lying out in the field with my headphones on listening to music and watching the stars and praying. I'm actually glad there is no snow yet so I can do that, even though I love snow.
I feel that God is also directing me as to what I am supposed to do with my life. I am really excited about this, it's something I never even considered doing. I feel that I am being called into Media ministry. To be able to work in a church and do all the media for them, to video tape productions and edit them and put it on a DVD. Also to do any kind of media during a sunday morning service, to put together video's or any kind of slides for the pastor's sermon. And also to build a strong media team with vision and commitment. I have this new found passion to use the area of media to further the Kingdom of God. I just need to keep learning everything I need to know and then let God direct me as to where I am going to use my ministry.

Meet The Gang

Andria Wiehle...from Seattle is the loudest and most outgoing person I have ever met! If you ever need a good ab workout she is who you go to, not only because she is a personal trainer but because she will have you laughing until you are in pain. We are starting an underground drama club that happens at 3am.

Jay (Jason) Raharjo...this handsome single 23year old from Seattle loves to go star gazing. He doesn't have the greatest reflexes as we have discovered while playing slaps. He also just realized he has a great love and adoration for horses.

Chantal Gibson (my roommate)...she's from Moncton N.B. Even with her unhealthy addiction to Mr.Noodles and her sarcasm she brings laughter with her wherever she goes.

Janet (my quadmate) She's from North Bay Ontario. Well Janet is unique...when she's not hugging her love fern she is usually carrying around a cup; a cup of dirt.

Meet The Gang

Jesse Fox & Sarah Harvey (the girls next door) You will
often hear the smoke detector going off from their room when they are making pizza! Yet there is always a yummy aroma
coming from there as well.

Tyler Fox... the boy from Montana who makes heart shaped cookies for our quad. Tyker as we like to call him is fun to have around, he laughs at all our jokes no matter how lame.

Ben Raine...He is from Regina. Ben has an amazing voice, he is part of Sojourn. He will also be playing the mentally challenged hick brother in the Christmas musical...gee Benny what did you do in your audition to get that part?

Michelle Kihlthau or Smith...Well she is the coolest R.A. ever from California, who lets me catapult corn across the room during potluck. We also discovered that she is quite the gamer. Don't try and beat her at 4 suites spider solitaire. She thinks she's stronger than me, but she has yet to experience "the tank". She enjoys the hockey players as much as I do or I mean hockey games...

V.I.P.

Today was a really good day. I slept in until lunch time and then I did a mad cleaning of my room, put away all my summer clothes and unpacked my winter stuff. I was very productive if I say so myself. Then I went to the volleyball game tonight and I won the VIP prize. I pretty much made a fool of myself by how ecsatic I was, but hey that's Jacquie for ya. The prize was for me and 3 of my friends to sit in the VIP section and have free pizza and coke. My friends owe me for that one. At least they got a good laugh of me running in the wrong direction to claim my prize.
Here's a pic of my some of my friends. You should all know my roommates, Chantal and Janet and then in the back, that is Jay - he is from Vancouver originally, but now lives in Seatle; the other guy is Jeff, i don't know him too well yet, all i know is that he is 27. So he's the oldest student I have met that is not married.
Then later on we were all pretty hyper and I went over to Michelle and Andria's room and Chantal reinacted my VIP win for them and they all had a good laugh at my expense. Then Andria started doing these monologues, I don't think that I have ever laughed that hard in my life. I don't know if it was because it was 3:30 in the morning and everything is so much funnier than normally but it was great. I love it here, everyone is so awesome. God has truly blessed me with the friends that he has brought into my life,he knew exactly what I needed. God is good! All the time!

OUCH!!

So I have some pretty exciting news for ya'll!! Well exciting and yet painful at the same time. For those of you who know me, know that I have never broken a bone or gotten a black eye, and I have always wanted both of those. Well I am sorry to report that I did not get a black eye, that would have been awesome. Believe me Liza has tried many times to give me one and it just won't bruise, at least the skin won't bruise, the bone on the other hand did get quite tender. But anyway that is all besides the point. I actually broke my toe! And I wish I had some grand story as to how it happened. It didn't even happen in soccer or any sports of any kind (by the way boy watching is now officially a sport). I was chasing my roommate, she's not a toucher and well I pretty much could not live without it. So as I was chasing her down the hall, she stopped abruptly and my toe cracked as it hit her shoe. It was the loudest crack I have ever heard my body have. So yeah anyways so it's pretty blue and twice the size and I can't wear anything but sandals because it hurts to wear shoes, ans it's freezing outside. I may have to pull out the socks and sandals fashion, if I'm desperate enough. Anyway I thought I would share that will ya'll. Have a great day!!

Happy Thanksgiving

I went home for the thanksgiving weekend, it was pretty great. No one knew I was coming so I got to surprise everyone, I loved it! It was great to spend time with family and friends again. Although all weekend I was craving pumpkin pie, and nowhere did anyone have it. So I was whining when I got back to school and Tyler from upstairs said he still had some so I got my pumpkin pie after all!! Thanks buddy I'll make you cookies some time.
So my soccer team got first place in the PAC tournament. That's pretty exciting, our boys team got first place as well. Congrats to Michelle and Dave for their MVP acheivments!!
So yesterday morning when I was walking to my very very early morning class at 8:30am I could smell something in the air. I could smell snow! I love snow. And sure enough when I walked out around noon the snow was coming down. It was very exciting. The snow was pretty wet so it didn't stick around but soon enough it will be here to stay.

Lunch at Hopkins

I love not having a class until 11am. This is great! I pretty much have the whole floor to myself, so I am blasting some Keith Urban and making chocolate chip/banana pancakes and then I spread peanut butter on top. WOW. So darn good. Sounds gross, you'll try it I know you will. So life here is great. I went to an outdoor worship service in Moose Jaw the other day, it was such an awesome time of reflection for me. I came to the conclusion that God really does love me, I mean I always knew that but for some reason maybe it was never that clear to me. He just reassured me of His constant love and that no matter what I do or have done He still loves me!! Anyway I am just learning so much so far and it's only been a month. My classes are great, this semester I am taking Gospels, Spiritual Formation, Literature & Composition, Academic Writing, and Video Production. I enjoy them all. Video prod is just fun because we get to use cameras and edit movies. Good times. I'm learning a lot in Gospels, it makes me question exactly what it is that I believe, it's good for me. Same thing with spiritual form, I'm really trying to understand why I believe what I believe. I would like to ask for prayer for concentration in studying, it's just been so long that I find it very difficult to have the discipline to say no to hanging out and buckling down to write my paper. I've said no once but then I rewarded myself with a card game later on. We play cards a lot, I have yet to win and beat Janet or Andria, they are the "slaps" queens.
